I wanted to write a little something on "Act of God" claims.... Illinois has experience very torrent weather the last few years and many of our customers believe that Act of God claims "shouldn't raise my rates because it is an Act of God right?" My response is pretty simple... I always try to answer a question like that with a question... Did the insurance company pay the loss to your property? The response is YES. Remember that there is no accumulating fund that insurance companies get to withdraw money from because of Acts of God. They pay the claim and if they are paying too many claims you can expect to see increases in rate structure. So if you turn in too many claims on your Auto Insurance, Home Insurance or any other Property Insurance I would say that chances are you will experience a rate increase.
My advice is call Weis Insurance to have us quote your auto or home insurance so we can evaluate whether the increase in premium you are receiving is fair premium. Every company evaluates and charges for claims and accidents differently so getting a quote is just being a good consumer.
In conclusion, I wish God reimbursed the insurance companies when they pay hail or windstorm claims ... Believe me :)
He doesnt....
